I was asked to submit FP once early on in the process, which had expired after 1 year of submitting them and BG was still not completed. Hence I did it again 3 weeks back. Unsure if FP can be submitted without being asked for it.

For me my criminality is pending ,can you tell me what are the steps to send the FP without the request ?

After so much waiting, I'm happy to share that my FP report has been updated and my BG marked completed March 14th. That only showed up on my tracker today 16th March. Meanwhile, i gave a new FP yesterday and i think that will just be redundant and useless now.

yes, it was criminality that was pending. FP was requested to get BG completed

So, me and spouse both are done with test, spouse got FP req, which were submitted and now received by IRCC. Now Spouse has BGC (criminality and eecurity is passed), while my BG is still in process (Criminality complete, Security is in Process). I was under the impession that my security will also be completed when spouse criminality will be passed after FP and perhaps officer withheld my BG too. Instead that did not happened.
- is this normal?
- anyone else in similar situation?
- any idea how long it gonna take?
- will her application would be freezed until my BGC (security complete), or she will get DM?

Can you share your timeline?
usually security check will take 8-10 months.
If your spouse and you are under the same application, then your spouse will need to wait for your security check passed. and you two continue to next step.

Well here's the thing, at this point I'm not sure whether its regular 'security check' or 'security screening', where the latter surely takes much more time. I have two speculations:
- My security perhaps taking a bit longer than spouse (as always in past during WP, PR, etc., my BG got completed with a buffer of 2-3 weeks following spouse BG). May be just 2-3 weeks away until I see BGC.
- May be the case officer didn't yet updated my BG status in system, while its completed already, hence eyes on upcoming weeks.

Now the only way to know whether its in SS or not is ATIP notes, which I ordered through CBSA and will be coming in 3-4 weeks. By that time I'm speculating my BGC, otherwise its in SS, correct?

Strange that, I haven't found any case lately in group application, where Applicant 1 (A1) got BGC after FP REQ, while Applicant 2 (A2) BG still in process (Criminality: Pass, Security: In-Process). May be there exist and I failed to search enough. Hence I'm perplexed at this moment, whether its security check routine/regular one or security screening - hope not the latter.

I know a friend who was delayed during covid, but his wife's is pending because of his application was stuck. Usually, Family application will the same oath date. So any member got delay will delay the oath date for others as well.

I saw you just passed your test. Maybe you just need an officer to update your status.
FP is for criminality check, usually security will start before test invite time. Most of BGC will complete before test invitation.

If you didn't get security passed with in short time, you are very likely it's comprehensive check. Usually it will take 8+ months.

Based on threads in here, people got test invite around July 2022 just got security passed. My test invite was Aug 2022. Still waiting.

From my GCMS/ATIP notes my Primary Office is Montreal and the secondary office is Sydney.

Do I send a physical copy to Montreal ? or to Sydney ?
Do I request the FP agency to send directly to CIC ?

Your original FP request letter should have an address on the last page (typically Vancouver but someone recently mentioned Sydney).
