It used to be the case that test/interview was essentially the final stage before decision. Now, there’s routine online testing (without interview), so those timescales are no longer relevant.

Did you get a fingerprints request? That usually resolves criminality. Is your security done?

I did not get FP request, or at least not yet. And yes, security is done. Odd.

Exactly my scenario. someone else going through similar delay. I thought I was the only one.

How did you discover that security is done? What does it say in your GCMS?

GCMS (says No Reportable Trace), MP office and IRCC agent (if you request) verified that the security is passed.

We will get stuck forever at this background check until the processing time is passed and we will finally can complain . That is my thought. It's 15 months for me since I submitted my application 9 more months to go for me. I'm almost giving up checking on my application, waiting another 9 months to raise my voice through web form. My friend got her Canadian passport 11 months after her application was submitted and me ...

apologies, it s been 8 months since I took the test. Application submitted January 2021. I sent the email 2 weeks ago and got a reply this past Friday. Last update: test passed April 12th 2022. Then the new tracker update in October but no change in the categories in process at that time.

You are really soon can submit webform to IRRC, 24 months since application is submitted, that will be Jan 2023 for you.

Unfortunately the webform does not seem to do anything. I am a July 2020 applicant so my processing time so far is 28 months. I wrote to IRCC one month ago and received the standard reply that my application is in process and due to COVID-19 blah blah blah. I have not been asked for anything to date.

Honestly I am very quickly reaching the point where having the oath just as my 24 months are up would be more of a problem than not because I absolutely have to travel at the end of February and I am worried if I don't get the oath by the end of December there won't be time to get a passport and I ll get stuck. I know there is urgent passport processing but my faith in it is limited.
I ll keep you posted if December ends with nothing and the 24months are up but they don't seem to handle things much differently passed that deadline, as unfortunate as it is.

I just got off the phone with IRCC. All they could tell me is that my application is in process and that there is no further documentation required at this point. They told me word for word what is available online. Unfortunately, nothing more.

Even your application has passed the processing time, they can't escalate it for you? They can do nothing? God so irresponsible, like they can do whatever they want, want to give result or delay until whenever they want to. I guess we have no hope but wish for a miracle.
