I have couple of question pertaining to Taxes and citizenship.
I have recently migrated to Canada from Dubai. My wife and daughter currently lives in Dubai, and do not plan to move to Canada for couple of years as we have some obligations.
My question is,
1) While filing taxes in Canada, do I need to declare my wife's income in Canada?
2) If I stay for 3 years in Canada and ONCE I get my citizenship later and assuming that my wife still cannot move to Canada, Can I apply for citizenship for my daughter who is currently 5 years old?
No, child aged under 18 is not required to live in Canada as part of residency like adults. "•the child is a permanent resident, but does not need to have resided in Canada for three years; and"

1. Except they have to have maintained their residency status, and must be in Canada when the parent applies for citizenship and includes them in the application.
For kids, no need to be in Canada. Their parents (or any one of two) should have completed 3 years period our of 4 years and they could include their under aged kids within their citizenship application.

To apply for citizenship for a child under 18, the following conditions must be met:
•the person applying is the child’s parent, adoptive parent or legal guardian
•the child is a permanent resident, but does not need to have resided in Canada for three years; and
•one parent is already a Canadian citizen or is applying to become a citizen at the same time. This also applies to adoptive parents.
So that means as long as your child maintains permanent resident status, she can be included in your application whether she is in Canada or not.
