Hi,
I recently received my PR & will be travelling to Canada soon. My mother already has a visit visa still valid for 5 more years. I will also be applying for my father's visit once I settle there. I have couple of queries:
- can we apply for long duration visit visa or are we allowed to apply only for 6 months? He will be visiting max 3-4 months per year, however I want to avoid applying every year.
- What are benefits of supervisa over visit visa?
- what are charges for supervisa & visit visa?
- Is there any thread with details about supervisa?
- any other suggestion/information in this regard.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, although I think my focus now will be more on PGP PR class.

If you are only moving to Canada now and haven't worked and lived here previously - you're about four years away from qualifying to sponsor your mother under the parent/grandparent sponsorship process.

> 6 months min. First visitor visa could be only 6 months or 10 years. Super visa is for 2 years continuous stay.
- What are benefits of supervisa over visit visa?
> 2 years continuous stay. Easy to get for parents/grand parents.
- what are charges for supervisa & visit visa?
> You should check latest fee on CIC website.
- Is there any thread with details about supervisa?
> CIC has lot of details and requirement about it.
- any other suggestion/information in this regard.
> It may take 3 to 4 weeks to get Super Visa as compared to Visitor Visa. You must purchase a 1 year Super Visa Insurance before applying. It can be cancelled without any penalty if Visa is not issue. If you require help to purchase or find a good deal about Super Visa Insurance, then personal message me.
Good Luck with your landing to Canada!

I had worked in Canada for 2 years with income above cut-off. However that was in 2013-14. Not sure if that will help. I'm also not in hurry as my mother has valid visa for 5 years.

It won't help for PR sponsorship. You need to make enough income for three years in a row.
