Hey folks, I submitted supervisa for my parents recently.

Timeline so far:

31 Oct - Submitted
01 Nov - BIL
04 Nov - Biometrics submitted and updated

20 Nov -Eligibility Completed

14 Jan - Medical Completed

Waiting on background check. Anyone know how long this usually takes since its the last step?

The application was submitted for Super Visa in October 2024. The medical has been passed in January 2025 for both of them & the
principal applicant of the application already received passport with stamping. But haven't received the passport request letter for second applicant, even both the applications were submitted together as family. Raised 2 webforms but received the generic response as "in progress". I am not sure if this is normal and how long will it take to get the passport request letter? Thanks

Did you get any additional medical request for the second applicant?
Try to reach out to your local MP to get updates on the file, It happened to me back in 2022 where my father haven't received PPR but my mom did. After reaching out to IRCC through local MP, found out they had requested for additional medical request.

Thanks, no haven't received as such any additional medical request. Yeah I am thinking to reach out to local MP by this week.

In your case, you came to know about additional medical request from local MP and not any letter from IRCC directly? Isn't it strange that getting to know about additional medical request from local MP?

With a federal election, don’t expect any help as office staff focused on election, MP if still running is on the campaign trail would be focused and MP may not be elected. Also parliament is dissolved so there are no “MPs” right now.

Ohhh What do you recommend for next step as I have already raised 2 webforms and got generic reply that it is in progress? It is been 6 months for super visa

If you need to talk to a MP then wait until at least a week after federal election. Staff may be new especially if there is a new MP, and it will take a while to get office set up. If in progress then you know it is in the system.

Yes, it was weird. Looks like the hospital did receive the request but they never followed up with us. Local MP got some insights after reaching out to IRCC. As pointed out by another user here, given the election season, reaching out to MP would not yield any results. Try to reach out to the hospital to check if there are any pending requests.

Sure but medical is passed in the system for both of them. I am not sure if there is any additional medical request, as system shows medical passed

Why not ATIP notes and see why application is not being processed. May have nothing to do with the medical.

Wont ATIP notes take 2-3 months to receive?

Also, does super visa applications process in home country embassies outside Canada?
