Hi,

My mom came here with a supervisa last April 30 2018 and her passport was stamped with a date of April 29, 2020 for her exit.

My question is:
She went home for a month, will the stamp on her passport will be change? That she can stay for extra months for the duration of her passport which expires on Nov 2020?

If the stamp stays the same, can I apply for an extension? Or she have to exit on April 2020.

Thanks!

So the thing with the supervisa is that you can stay consecutively in Canada for 2 years without leaving. So say for example someone got a supervisa in 2018 and it was valid for 10 years based on the expiration. So even if that person left after one year to go abroad for one month, the time would reset and they can stay again for 2 whole years.

In your case, since the passport expires in Nov 2020 which means that the visa will also expire, your parent can stay more than April 29, 2020 since they already exited for a month and are coming back. Your mother can also confirm with the border security officer but this is how it works. SO you can apply for a new super visa for her as well

Thank you for this! Helps a lot! :)
