Hello. I’m wondering if anyone was able to bring their parents who already got their supervisa approved to Canada during Covid.
My mom in law got her visa approved before Covid started but couldn’t get on a flight before the border closed. Can she come now? Or does she have to wait for the border to open? If so does the visa get extended then at all?

My mom in law got her visa approved before Covid started but couldn’t get on a flight before the border closed. Can she come now? Or does she have to wait for the border to open? If so does the visa get extended then at all?
Also another question. We live in Edmonton and she would be coming from India. So normally she has to either have her first stop in either Vancouver or Toronto before Edmonton. So can she board a flight to Edmonton then do quarantine in Edmonton. Or does she have to quarantine at first port of entry?
Didn’t know your husband is already a PR, she surely can come in this case. She needs to show a copy of his PR card and his birth certificate where is mentioned that she’s his mom. She can quarantine wherever she wants, so it would be you home, I believe.
was concerned about if she can take a flight from port of entry to Edmonton before quarantine. Or would they ask her to quarantine at port of entry for 14 days first before coming to Edmonton.
She is an immediate family member so she is not required to show that her travel is essential. But she has to prove that she is your husband’s mom. She is not required to quarantine at the port of entry either. You can check the link I provided for more details about required documents, her quarantine plan and so on.
She will need to quarantine in somewhere separate in your home like a basement with a bathroom or your whole family will need to quarantine for 14 days.
@passenger19 Hello! We are looking forward to bring my grandmother to Canada and I'm permanent resident. Grandparents are not considered as immediate family members according to the link you posted above. Is there any chance to bring grand parents during the pandemic? I would appreciate any info
