Summer break after first semester

Hello. I need advice.I started my education in 2 year post secondary program as a full time student. I wiil finish first semester in April and I want to take summer break. Advisor in my college said that I can do it, but I can not work at this time, because it is not regular break. Could you please explain me if this break will affect my post graduation work permit and extending study permit? I will extend my study permit in September, when I wiil start my 2 semester in Fall.

You can get a study permit or extension even if you are a part time. But for PGWP, you must remain a full time student except during a scheduled break. Your school has NOTHING to do with your PGWP eligibility, means they can offer you a part time status, means it's your responsibility to maintain a full time status if you want a PGWP.
