I have submitted my study permit restoration on May 31st within the 90 days window. I called CIC in August and the agent advised me to expect a decision by Sept 27th, and if not received, I should call back. I called today to see if any new updates and the agent told me that my file is under review and she can not access it.
From what I understood from her is that the review is an extra step and that not all restoration applications are transferred to review.
My questions is: anybody ever heard of the review process of restoration application? is it a critical indicator that my file might be having problems or something?
I'm sorry this is not an answer for your question. But can you please tell me how can you actually speak to an agent?
I tried to call CIC but all I get is automated messages
It would really help
Thanks

Hi Omar
The same thing with me it was all automated messages until I figured out this:
- I call and follow the instructions to inquire about my application status.
- When they ask me to enter application no and birth year, I enter nothing for the application number and press the bound key as instructed and continue to enter my birth year as normal.
- By doing so, they can not retrieve my application so they give the option of pressing 0 to speak to an agent. I press zero and sometimes it hooks up directly some time it says they are busy and I have to repeat the process.
