I have applied for my study permit (online) in the UAE on the 24th of June (received confirmation on 26th of June) and the 7-week processing time is nearing to an end very soon. How do I find out which consulate the study permit is being processed at because there is a Canadian consulate in Dubai as well as Abu Dhabi (which seems to be the main one) so that I could possibly go to the consulate and ask what the status of my application? I'm getting very anxious owing to the fact that my friend got approved last week when he had applied early-mid July.

You can read on your submission letter, that you can put an enquiry about your application after your waiting time has passed.
Send that enquiry, after your waiting time gets more than normal processing time(shown on cic).

I think 1 week. They would send you an automated response that we have received a large volume of applications. So its taking more than normal processing times. And they 'll write that we suggest that applicant should not make any travel arrangements before we make a final decision.
Its just their way of saying *Be calm, you would get your decision soon*
