Yes. I did. The deadline to defer was a month before the classes started. Also I had to ensure that there were seats available for the January semester for my program.

Yes. I applied June 24. Biometric June 28, medical passed and updated August 18. Eligibility started August 26. My program will start on the 6th of September,2022. I just won scholarship if 22000CAD from bell telecommunication in Canada on the 5th of August 2022. Still waiting for visa approval

I applied 21st of June, upfront medical 26th of July, although it has not been updated
My university, university of Ottawa, refused my deferral request and advised me to apply for fall 2023, do I need to withdraw my application or I just need to send the new acceptance letter after my approval since I is almost 354 days till the day I will be going to school. I haven't mad a decision I hav hope IRCC will send an update before school resumes Sept 7

Since your resumption date is 7th of September, you can still get passport request before that time. I know of a guy whose application was not updated but got passport request yesterday. What is your school deadline for international students to resume?

IRCC should please write the universities and colleges to extend resumption date for international students, especially those whose programs do not have online classes and September only program.
