Hi.My wife and I are planning to come to Canada as International Students, both. My wife is not working, she graduated from University in Azerbaijan recently. But I have been working for more than 5 years and I have enough funding for both, so I will be her sponsor. I mean that, I have enough money for her and for myself as well. I know that, I need to prove that to the Canadian Embassy by documents, but I can get the necessary documents from my bank and show bank transactions for the last 4 months only for myself.
So my question is that:
1. Do we need to apply for Study Permit for both separately?
- IF YES, then how can I be her sponsor, how do I have to prove that with documents?
- IF NOT, then it means that, I don't need to open a bank account for her and put the necessary amount of money to her account. Am I right ?
2. If above is not acceptable/convenient for us, then we need to apply in 1 application for both, don't we?
- IF YES, then I DO NOT need to open a bank account for her and put money, do I? My own bank account with enough amount of money for both will be the only document that I need to submit for application. Am I right?
I would be very happy if anyone could answer my above questions and/or share his/her experience.
It's not my experience because only few people apply study permit for both. I made comment with lot of reading.
For my case I applied student permit for me and OWP for spouse.
For both student permit you need to be pretty strong in financial document with strong current ongoing income.
My wife will study a 1 Year Program, but I will study a 2 Years Program. After 2 Years my wife's Study Permit and PGWP will expire, so I will need to get OWP for her. Of course after getting of my own PGWP. How do you think is it easy to get it on our case as both of us will be in Canada at that moment or is there any chances of not being acceptable for that?
My Program will begin in January 2017 and will end in April 2018, so the duration is less than 2 years. How do you think, when should I apply for PGWP for myself, in January 2018 (3 month prior graduation) or in September (3 month prior of ending 2 Years period)?
Think for present. If you guys are going for study ; make good income source and one think better to have institute in same city where you can live together.
Karki, thanks.
We will live together, study at the same college and will have a good funding above the advised cost for living + tuition fees for both.
Thank you for your help, you are a Hero
