Spouse bank account - Proof of Founds - Study Permit

Hi,

I'm applying for a study permit, but I don't have enough money on my personal account. My husband account is the one that has all the savings for this. My husband is coming with me to Canada and he's applying for a Open Work permit at the same time.

Do I need to transfer the money to my account or should I show both bank accounts to be able to apply for the study permit?

It is better if the money is in the account of the principal applicant. Nevertheless, if you are legally married or you have proof of your relationship, it doesn't matter if the money is in your spouse's account.

You can show your spouse as a sponsor. And you need a financial affidavit which declare that your spouse is ready to sponsor you. Also, in financial planning of first year you may show both of your expense combinedly. No need to transfer your spouse's money to your account.
