Study permit extension

Hi,
My granddaughter, an Indian passport holder is studying in University of Waterloo since Sep 2021. Her course finishes in April 2026. Her original study permit and visa was valid till 31/12/2025. She applied for study permit extension in Dec 24 end. She has received a new study permit valid till Oct 25. That means instead of extension the study permit has been curtailed. Don’t know if Oct 25 is an inadvertent error instead of Oct 26. She has unsuccessfully tried calling IRCC. Can anyone suggest the further course of action. Thanks in advance.

Probably not an error. She applies to extend her her permit some time in the summer months.

She can ask for reconsideration through webform which is an informal process. Tough to say what is going on without knowing her her immigration and study history.
