- Graduated at school and received remarks at XX
- After graduation, I applied for XX school and worked
- I received my Letter of acceptance at this date XX
- Sought the services of an immigration consultant and learned about the unauthorized work
- Apologize for the ignorance and say you will not do it again.
That's the best I can give you. I don't know what will happen next but my lawyer told me that everything will be fine.
My older brother accidentally worked two shifts after graduation (7.5 hours in total) before realizing that he shouldn't work. He immediately stopped working then. According to your experience and the information from your lawyer, is this a serious issue?
He has refused payment for that 7.5 hours to further reduce his "guilt". By "admit it" do you mean declaring this information anywhere it is required in future applications, or do you think he should "turn himself in" to IRCC by calling them and confessing to an IRCC agent?

He agreed to take that two shifts before he received the written confirmation but the 7.5 hours' shift took place after he received a confirmation email. He was not aware that students should stop working at that time. After the shift he was told by a classmate about this and he immediately stopped working and declined payment for the shift, so basically he did 7.5 hours' unpaid unauthorised work. That's it. He is now afraid he will be jailed for this.
