Study Permit Extension: Received Correspondence Letter

I applied for a study permit and co-op work permit extension on the 8th of March 2023 because my permit was not long enough to finish my current program. My permits current expiry is October 1st.

I got a correspondence letter yesterday which says my biometrics are valid till some date in 2029.

My status for eligibility review is "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements."

The current processing time is 90 days for an extension. Is this a good sign or a bad sign?

Almost the same. I applied on March 5th.

Yesterday, I got a biometric correspondence letter. No decision was made.

Same situation here, I also applied on march 8. My friend didn’t get any correspondence letter rather direct decision. That’s why I am little concerned about this.

Does your friend need to give biometrics as per their nationaility? Some nationalities do not. I'm not sure but if they don't have to give biometrics for their nationality then I don't think there is a correspondence letter before approval for biometrics. There will just be approval correspondence letter

Yes. He need to, he is from the same country. Did you give biometric again.

No. My biometrics were still valid from the last time I gave them (in 2018)

I just checked my account. It's a ghost update. I see my application approved.

I applied in 9 of March and also received today an email from IRCC and I got a correspondence letter which makes me feel concerned because not always that happens. Crossing fingers to get a positive response promptly.
