My timelines:
09/02/24 extension application submitted
09/02/24 background started
07/03/24 medical passed, eligibility started & correspondence letter (biometric validity)
08/03/24 Approved.

My brother got the correspondence letter before yesterday (March 12th). Still waiting for the final decision. Hopefully soon! Alongside with the approval, did you get the request to send the passport for the new student visa stamp? Thank you and congratulations!

So today I logged on to check my application status and my status said - “profile updated”.

I didn’t get an email and couldn’t see any changes however but I’m thinking maybe this means I’ll get the real update in a day or two.

here’s my timeline so far -

Feb 29th - Application submitted
March 1st - Email saying application status changed/updated (ghost update)
March 4th - Email saying application status changed/updated: eligibility started.
March 19th - Application status changed from “submitted” to “profile updated”

I also just saw in this thread that a February 22nd applicant was approved on March 15th -

Congrats! 21 days that’s fast!

I’ve just received my biometrics validity letter today (applied Feb 29th) so looks like my application might be almost done too! It’s great to see the faster processing times!

Thank you! I haven’t received my final decision yet but based on others getting it soon after the BVL I’m hoping I hear within the coming days.

Yes it seems that more complex applications can take a bit longer but hopefully you have some updates soon! The processing time has also increased to 87 days for *most* complete applications so those getting decisions in 3-4 weeks might be the minority.

I applied for my study permit extension on Mar 18, 2024 and my current study permit expires on Apr 30, 2024. My course already ended and the new starts on May 08th,2024.
Hoping that i get it by next month. How soon did you guys get a response?

A few recent applicants have been approved in 3-4 weeks, another took ~96 days (including giving biometrics). It seems to vary a lot but the current estimated processing time for *most* complete applications is 87 days although many can take longer.

For me I had email updates within days, but others hear nothing until a day or so before they get a final decision.
