Study permit expiring

Hi,
My study permit was expiring on Nov.2019, i applied for extension and they extended it only for 1 month so now my study permit is expiring on 30 december 2019. My study is now finished.
I will get my graduation letter in January.
But i need that now to apply for PGWP, so what can i do now?
Do i need a valid study permit to Apply for PGWP or i can apply within 6 months of its expiry?

I believe you can apply for PGWP while your permit is still valid, otherwise given that your permit is expiring soon, you will need to restore your status when you decide to move forward with pgwp ,then apply for PGWP. You have 180 days after your studies is completed. Expert knows better.

If you aren't going to get your graduation letter until January, you can apply to change your status to visitor BEFORE your study permit expires. Do NOT go out of status, as that will cause you more issues.

After your study permit expires, you will not be able to work until you get your PGWP. You could try flagpoling for your PGWP once you get your graduation letter but no guarantees.
