Study permit expires on April 30, but I won't be able to get acceptance letter(for permit extension) before 20 April.

Hello,
I'm a student at International College of Manitoba and I'm going to University of Manitoba in summer. My study permit expires on April 30 but be able to get acceptance letter before 20 April. So I won't be able to extend my permit before I get the study permit. I also plan on going back home after the summer semester at UofM.
Could it cause any problems if I apply for extension after 20 April?

You need to apply for an extension prior to April 30th. If you don't have the necessary documents to apply for a study permit extension, then you need to apply to change your status to visitor.
