Study permit enquiry

Hello Everyone,

I am an international student into my 2nd year of my 4 year of honors graduation course. Since my Passport expires in June 2019 , my TRV and study permit is valid only upto May 2019. I renewed my passport in Sept 2018. My query is should I apply for a study permit extension or get a new study permit issued?
Also when should I apply for the TRV - after or before the issuance of the study permit ?

SP Extension 3 months before expiry, TRV after. Talk to your school's international office about required docs for extension.
