you do not need a marriage cert if single, I nvr did a police cert. Just go to https://canada.ca create a profile create a GCkey, it's straight forward. It asks you what you want to do, just select study and follow
Is it better to apply online than on paper? I downloaded a checklist from the VAC but half the stuff on there online is not asking for like marriage and police certificate so am confused. Anyone knows?? Thanks
The required forms are the same whether you're applying online or on paper. You definitely need a police record. You can have someone with experience help you with the forms or you can get assistance at the visa application center.
Online is the way to go as its faster. I never got a police record and neither did my wife and we both got study permits/work permit/TRV. If you intend to start in September you are already behind so best to move quickly
This is good feedback thank you ! I'll do online. Online ask for docs such as the required forms, proof of funds, pics, acceptance letter while the VAC wants resume, business documents, educational papers, marriage and police records and a few other things that online isn't asking for, weird huh??? They should all ask for the same things online or not.

Better safe than sorry. 2-3 months before school starts is very early. My school recommended 1-2 weeks before school starts to get my children settled and such
Its too late to change now, we leave in a few weeks. Although I dont think it will be a problem since my husband has a SOWP and has a job interview within two weeks of our expected arrival. I can't imagine arriving only a week or two before school with the checklist of things that I will have to get done for me and my child to be equipt and ready for school. Finding a suitable place to live alone will take more time than that. That timeline would be completely unrealistic for me since I have no friends or family there to help me speed up the process.
Hi Tracy did you applied for your husband's SOWP with your study permit, or separately. I am in the process of applying for my study permit but i want to apply for my husband's open work permit as well. are you able to assist me.
