Mt wife has applied for Study permit and I will apply for a Spouse open work permit. since we are applying together will we get the result together or will there be a significant delay in receiving an update on my open work permit. we are sri lankan living in Qatar.

Applications may not be processed at the same time. You will only know if you get approval for SOWP at same time.

They should be processed together but it's not guaranteed, meaning you could receive your decisions at different points in time and with some or none delay. No way of knowing until you receive a decision.

You have many other things to overcome first so I wouldn’t worry too much about any delays due to SOWP. It is harder for people living in a 3rd country to get approved for a study permit. Given the conditions in Sri Lanka it will tough to prove that you intend to return home after you finish your degree. Hopefully you are doing an advanced degree like a masters or PhD from a reputable university.
