I have applied to Dal/Ryerson/Ottawa/Waterloo and waiting for some info from there... no admits yet but fingers crossed...
One thing m a little curious about.. I can see a lot of guys applying for colleges instead of Univs. Is there some advantage of studying at a college as I have heard colleges are not a preferred mode of education...especially for international guys ... So just wondering if i also should consider applying to colleges in case my uni options run out

evrybody has its own priorities brother ..so dont think about evryone go for ur choice mainly difference in uni and college is ilets requirment , fess, percentage marks required by uni. are bit higher as compared to colleges. uni face higher competition as compared to colleges in admission criteria .
I applied to Sheridan College Interactive Media Management course....waiting for their decision. It's a 1 year course so I am pretty confused about staying back in canada after my pgwp.
I completed Bsc. Multimedia and animation from India.

Congratulations!!
It will take 10 working days to open GIC account. Once you get a confirmation mail from Scotiabank that your account has been opened, you can wire transfer the funds to the same. It will take another 5 to 10 days for you to get the GIC certificate. But do keep checking your E-mail inbox everyday. In my case it took 5 days each to get the account opened and get the GIC certificate.
It can be a maximum of one month to get the receipt from the college after you have transferred the funds.

length of work permit depends on length of ur program .. means doing one year course it will be one year ..but some rare lucky cases VO also gives 3 year work permit to one year course students also..that depends on luck

as revolute said it is true .. transfer money to ur GIC account after that chk email regularly scotia bank will provide u GIC certificate ..for college fess u can contact college by mail. they will provide account number/transit number in which account u have to submit ur fess. it will take 7-10 working days depends in which period u submit fees means peak period time extends due large number of applications.
