i got my passport today and my visa is valid for 6 months only till 31st august. But my program is of 2 years. did they stamped wrong?

I want to ask if the study permit issued at poe (border) will be for the duration of study like 21 months ? or like trv stamp validity which is just to enter basically till aug 2017(my class starts in September 2017)?

i want to make sure if i will get atleast 1 year of study permit before i leave my job.

anyone who can share their experience like mine?

The validity of the TRV has nothing to do with status in Canada. The study permit will be issued for the length of your program, provided your passport is valid for that time.

Apply for a new TRV once you are in Canada so you can travel in December.

In letter of introduction, It says:

For officer use:

TYPE: Permit - SP / Permis - PE

Validity (YYYY/MM/DD): 2017/08/31
Must enter Canada by (YYYY/MM/DD): 2017/08/31

i sent email to the visa office and they re issued passport request and poe letter.

I collected my passport on 7 april with first visa. Then i got passport request on 18 april and received email the same day stating same. It took a 4 day once passport request recieved in online portal and almost 2 wd for stamping visa and 1 day for courier.

process is for italy. Visa office was very helpful. they replied all emails within 1 or 2 days.

When did you receive the reissued visa of 2 full year? Was is after you came to Canada or before? As per your first question, you said that you had offer letter for 2 years and received the first visa which was valid for only 7 months. So the new visa for 2 year.. did u apply for it after coming to canada?
