I am a student who already lived in canada for a year and then came to India 6 months back. I want to go back now, i have valid student visa and permit til Nov 2021 and my study program is till august 2021. My medical expired last year, so i wanted to know if i have to get medical redone before going to canada as i stayed in india for more than 6 months or i can go without getting medical redone?
Anybody who travelled with same situation can share their experience, it would be really helpful.
Yes you need to redo it as you've been out Canada (and in a designated country) for 6 months or more, even as returning student. You can see the responses from IRCC to same questions on Twitter.

Thank you for replying,
Ircc didnt raise IME on my gc key yet. And in India upfront medical is not open. They are only taking IME appointments. So any idea how can i request IME from IRCC?

medical examination is part of the study permit process. since he got it and went to Canada. he doesn't need it anymore. he would need to take another one if he applied for new study permit or for extension when he is outside canada.
If upfront medicals aren't open in the country, there is nothing that can be done but wait. As I said you might want to raise a webform addressing your concern. With current processing expect delay and you might want to raise webform as soon as possible.
