Hey guys
Just wanna share my experience. I too have 10 years of study gap (experience) i applied study visa in October 2016 rejected. The caips note reason was large study gap not a bonafied student n will not depart canada. However i have applied again on 12th june with strong SOP. I will update u. But u must try n convince the VO as suggested by Ketan. I know people who have got visa after long study gap.
I have 6 years study gap.i got offer letter for january intake in a college Ontario but I couldn't join because i was unable to arrange funds on time. Now all the documents, funds and my medical results are ready so I will be applying for may 2019 intake. The problem is that my husband is going to nova scotia on work permit in March. Will this have any impact on my visa application? Is there chance my application gets rejected by the VO? I did not include my husband in my application.

You must be transparent to Embassy if you have not mentioned in your study permit application they will find out which will result in negative response becoz you have not told them.
My name is shreya and I was planning to go for student visa canada although I have 8 years of study gap and I am 31 year old ... does it matter or we still manage to get admission and visa.
Regards,
Hi I'm from Pakistan and I have applied for study permit on 2nd of May..I have 10 years study gap ..but recently gave TOEFL and scored well. But 8 weeks and over and I'm still waiting for some updates.. at least a medical call.
Hello All ,
I have 10 years of study gap and I have been working in all these years.
I would like to ask two questions about SOP.
1)
Imagine , if I have a house in my name .
In the SOP, while mentioning about the close ties to our home country, do I have to attach any property evaluation certificate as a proof ?.
2)
I am applying the student visa for a Masters program. I have a genuine wish to go for Ph.D with the same university in Canada, after the Master program .
Is it a good idea to mention about the Ph.D plan in the SOP ?. Because I have no proof available now to justify it .

Regards,
Firstly yes u can apply and can get visa. Secondly, About gap. it is something which is non-accountable period of your life.if it is accountable andyou have proof of it then it is not considered as a gap.so dnt wry and just apply you will get your visa.think positive, stay positive

well, there are mix reviews you will find in this forum, even in outside real world. I do also have nearly 7 years of gap and I researched a lot to get information about whether I am eligible to apply for study visa or not. But really got mixed reviews.
I strongly recommend you to please listen to your inner voice if it says yes then please go for it. There are many cases I have read on this forum who got their visa after nearly 8-10 years gap and many also not got a visa even without any gap.
I am applying for student visa JAN 2018, gathering documents and arranging finance. Please keep in touch I will really help you to share much information which probably I haven't got easily.
Visa depends on mainly Three criteria.
1) your actual intention to study further after such a long period.
2) is your future study linking with your past experience or not?
3) prove that you will come back at the end of the study permit (just for visa officer)
Thabk you for updating all. i am planning to apply for student visa in dec 2019 intake. I have study gap of 5 year.could you please suggest any consultant for same??
