Hi,i'm 16 half Thai-German and currently live in Thailand. My sister has been living in Vancouver Canada for most of her life as a Canadian Citizenship. I am planning to start high school there in grade 10. Since I have a German passport and don't need a visa into Canada, can I enter Canada as a visitor and make a student permit within Canada.

No, you have to apply from abroad.

are you sure ? I think you can do it from canada ..

you can apply for change of visa status after going to any country and this is only a student visa application, shouldnt be a problem..

Two more questions, will it take less time for my student permit to be done online and how long does it usually take for a sibling to sponsor a younger brother?

i m guessing ur 2nd question, ur refering to sponsoring a PR or citizenship..in that case months or more than an yr ...

n for online student application form..it shud take a week or 2 more than the drop box system..

Siblings usually can't sponsor each other.

You'll have to give more details for us to comment further. Where does the sponsoring sibling live (which province)? Does the sponsoring sibling have a spouse or children? Are their parents still alive?

My sister lives in Tsawwassen British Columbia, she has three children and they are all older than 18. She's my half sister but we both share the same father. Although I've contacted the embassy and they said that I should make a student permit first so I can study there, then when i'm in Canada,I should make a PR citizenship or something between those lines for my sister to sponsor me. So talking about the student permit, does it take less time to do it online then letting vfs to do it for me, in this case vfs only accepts hard copy. They also said it will takes around 3 months for a student permit to be done with them. Thank you for your responses and help :)

it takes 3 months for study permit ? or 3 weeks ?

Dunno but from what I heard, they said 3 months. So that's why I was wondering if it would be much faster if I did it online.

VFS is suppose to be faster by a week or 2 than the online application..but if ur sure it takes that long ,then get to work soon ;)

If VFS takes that long,I might as well do it online. From what you know how long does it usually take a student permit to be done online, around 3 weeks? Thanks for the help anyways :)

this says for the applications inside canada..which means u can apply for a study permit after u reach canada on ur german passport..

aaah..they r right, it says around 9 weeks for Thailand...

in such case, u can goto canada n apply for a study permit from there..it takes only 18 days days from within canada..but if you are fine waiting for 3 months..you can do it from Thailiand

Yup I might as well do it in Cananda ;) Ain't going to wait three months. I also came across that page and that's why I was wondering if I should just do it in Canada, thank you so much for the help, much appreciation ;D
