For those of you who have received the PNP certificate from Alberta Province government, did Alberta immigration officers ever contact your employer to verify your current employment? I am afraid that they will contact my employer and once my current employer knows that I have the intent to quit this job and move to Alberta someday, he will probably start to hire someone else to replace me. And if I fail to get the Alberta PNP certificate, I will end up finishing my life in the US and moving back to my country....
Hi
They may call or may not.I even know the case where they did not call the employer...
So good luck

Satyac,
If you are not sure, I would suggest stating the facts. State clearly that your student visa was denied. I don't think it will create any problem as this PNP is based on H1B status.
Good luck and happy Deepawali
F1, B1 rejection should not cause any issues with Canada immigration unless there
some serious reasons.
FOR NEWCOMERS ON THIS BOARD

Initially, we ask applicants to apply for pre-assessment to see if they qualify for the Strategic Recruitment Stream. For more information regarding the H1B Strategic Recruitment Stream (H1B SRS), please visit http://www.alberta-canada.com/immigration/campaigns/h1b.html

If you are not eligible for the H1B Strategic Recruitment stream, you may consider coming to work as a Temporary Foreign Worker, and then being nominated for permanent residence through your Alberta Employer. I have included some general information below about finding a job and getting a temporary work permit. The Alberta-Canada Jobs website list jobs posting from employers willing to hiring foreign nationals and/or temporary foreign workers.
Although we are not able to advise of all possible Alberta employers, please find below general information on working in Alberta and sources of information through which you may be able to find a job with an Alberta employer. Please note, the type of job you are offered will affect the process you must follow to obtain a work permit. The general process to obtain a work permit is outlined below.
The first step is for you to obtain a job offer from an employer that wishes to hire you as temporary foreign worker.
Alberta Employment and Immigration does not match prospective workers with job opportunities. Temporary foreign workers must find Canadian employment opportunities independently.

The employer who offers you employment must satisfy Service Canada that there are no Canadian citizens or permanent residents available to fill the position which you have been offered. If Service Canada is satisfied that there are no Canadian citizens or permanent residents available to fill the position, the position receives Service Canada’s approval and they will issue a positive labour market opinion (LMO) to the employer.
After you have a job offer from an Alberta employer, the employer should forward you a copy of the Service Canada LMO and the employment contract and inform you to apply for a work permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). In most situations, a temporary foreign worker must apply for a work permit from outside of Canada . Applications for work permits can be made at a visa office at a Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate. For more information, go to CIC’s website at:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp
Temporary foreign workers from some countries must also obtain a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) before traveling to Canada . Applications for TRV’s must also be made at a visa office at a Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate. A list of countries whose citizens require TRV’s can be found at:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp
Temporary foreign workers are responsible for proving they are qualified to meet the job requirements. They must also meet CIC’s requirements regarding admission to Canada including health and security checks. In some cases an immigration medical examination is required before coming to Canada . More information on immigration medical requirements can be found at:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/dcl.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp
The decision to issue a work permit is in the discretion of the CIC visa officer reviewing your application.
Hey Guys,
I have applied for the pre-assessment and sent in the docs as an email attachment on october 22nd and also recieved an acknowledgement reply from Gingie same day. I am working in USA on H1B since oct 2007 (more than a year).
I just want to know if you are not approved in pre-assessment do they let you know?
Also my position is of a Management Analyst (which is not listed of Regional Occupation Under pressure) in USA but i perform most of the duties of a Marketing Manager(which is listed on the Regional Occupation under pressure) as listed on the NOC website which i mentioned on the application. Do you think this could cause a problem in the approval process.
In the acknowledgement email they said the pre-assessment could take upto 4 months now. Is it really going to take 4 months. I have my FSW application waiting to be filed. i am just waiting for the answer from Alberta PNP.
Your reply will definitely help me.
Thank You

Not sure. I sent them an employment reference letter from my employer. I don't know why they would contact, they have information about my job and job details already. But, when I signed the AINP form one of the points in declaration was I give PNP office the authority to verify my employment and immigration...... So keep your fingers crossed.

I am sure they would let your know. I applied for pre-assessment on the 17th of October and got a confirmation email saying that it will take 4-5 weeks for pre-assessment to finish.
About your job details I don't think you should worry much because they would look at the letter of your duties and responsibilities from your job and go by that rather than going by the title. Plus, you can't do anything about it. So chill!
Re: Strategic Recruitment Stream Alberta PNP - Experience Letter
Just a quick Q
My company provided me experience letter mentioning 4-5 points about my job description/duties for second stage for PNP certificate. My Q is that would be enough to provide the job responsibilities/duties associated to NOC.
I am going to attach my resume as well. Please enlight your expertise especially ppl who got the PNP nominee certificate or anyone who has submitted docs for second stage.
Thanks all
