Still waiting for passport request!!

Hi every1,

just wondering if i should send an email for an update on my file. I got approved in an interview in 1st week of May from cic london and sent
new police certificate and medical strate away on their request. I was told to wait 4 to 6 weeks for a passport request but still no joy. Should i wait or send them an email. any1 from london share your experience please!!!. could they change their decision ??

It does not hurt to send them an email and ask about status of your application.

It is very unlikely they would change the decision.When they ask you for more documents they give you a time limit to have them in by.They then give your file a revisit date.Depending on when that date is,is when they will go back to your file and review to see if the required docs were submitted then they will need to check the results of the new medical redue and the new police report, then after all that they will issue your visa.But it seems that London getting results for police clearence is rediculous,so it seems from posters on here.

when did you send the medical? was it after the interview? because that on its own takes about 2 monhts

i am nearly 100% sure that once ur approved in the inteview, they wont change your mind unless something comes up in your new police certificate or medical that they are concerned about....

be patient and im sure ull hear something soon, especially that your background checks are cleared

I had an interview in the first week of May 2010 and in the same week I had my new medical done after interview on a IO request. I spoke to my mdeical centre and they said that results were posted to London a week after the medical date. Further, I dispatched an updated UK police certificate in the mid of May by a registered post. The irony is that they are not replying to my emails any more which never happened before which is a bit worrying. I remember IO advising me to wait 4 to 6 weeks for a passport request which has elapsed now.!!!

just out of curiosity why did u need a new police certificate how old was the old one u mailed to them?

To request Police Certificate in Australia is too long process in Australia as well (would be simliar like UK). I am curious as same as SaugaBoss. If you don't mind posting your PR timelines on your profile information (left hand side) or post it here, so we all know/learn from your case.
