Hello, I dropped the ball and did not sent an application to extend my mom's stay in Canada on time. She has now been in the country for over 6 months ( almost 7 ) and I just realized what the date is. What are my options? Can I still just send the application ( it does say it needs to be sent a month before her 6 months expire). If she leaves Canada to go to Cuba will she be allowed to re-enter? She is from Europe and doesn't require a visa, only ETA. SHe has been visiting Canada for over 10 years and never overstayed her visit. I am really worried.

If she wants to remain in Canada, then she needs to apply to restore her status.

The other option would be to return home for a while.

I would not recommend that she take a short trip to Cuba and then try to return to Canada immediately.

What are the processing times? I can't find it anywhere on the website at all? I am submitting it by Wed, March 27th. If she is refused ( to restore status) will she have issues coming back to Canada for a visit?

It's more important to send in the application to restore her visitor status.

It would depend on the immigration officer she meets when she returns

There are no posted processing times for Restoration because it is an entirely individual application. It could take a few weeks or 4 months. No one can say.

As said above, it would depend on CBSA when entering.
