Status changed to transit

"Passport released by the Consulate General Of Canada, SCO, 54-55-56, SECTOR 17A, CHANDIGARH, Pin:160017, Tel: on 07/11/2011 and is in Transit."

Hello Frnds,
My status has changed as above. Please help me with following doubts :-

1) Does that mean pasport is dispatched to destination my home or destination vfs?
2)I am currently not in Punjab. Do i need to go back home and collect the passport personally or it can be collected by my family members.

1) Does that mean pasport is dispatched to destination my home or destination vfs?

While submitting documents VFS official must have told you if it would be delivered at your place or if you will have to collect it(that is usually the case if you are not residing in some major city). If you live in some major city it would be delivered at your place and anybody can collect it but you might have to show the receipt by VFS, I think they tear and keep the lower part of the same.

I think anyone can collect it on your behalf but like I said that person will have to show the receipt from VFS that you got when you submitted your documents.
