Status changed from updated to submitted - study permit applied on 12 july

I applied for canada study permit on 12 july 2016, There was no update , But yesterday the status showed updated, and after few hours it again changed to submitted. I am a little confused with this.
I did not receive any email from CIC.
Please Help.

When someone is looking at a section of your file you receive an update email. Its nothing unusual. Usually some people have a couple before visa decision (this differs from person to to person). Once you've viewed the update application goes back to submitted state.

I had three update emails before my visa approval. Hope that helps! Update email usually comes a day or two from the actual time the update was sent

Well it depends on your country's processing time. (heres the link to check it if you need it http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/ ) But if you're lucky it might be out a little early like mine was. Or it might be out later. The processing time is an average but some people are before and after

Could you please tell me timeline of your case?
When did you apply for visa and got request for passport?
