Has anyone heard concerns the MTA SUV program no longer meets IRCC requirements? An Immigration Advisor mentioned that they are seeing multiple rejections for groups who previously received LOS due to deficiencies in their program.

"While I'm not familiar with what MTA stands for in this context, I can share some information about recent changes to the Start-Up Visa (SUV) program. The program has undergone several reforms recently, with mixed impacts on applicants:

Positive changes:

1. Work permit relaxation: The program now grants work permits to all applicants, not just those considered essential. This is a significant benefit for the all team.

Restrictive changes:

1. LOS limitations: Every incubator or Angel Investor are now restricted to granting only 10 Letters of Support (LOS), down from an unlimited number previously. This change aims to reduce backlogs and encourage choices that are more selective by incubators.

2. Application caps: IRCC has introduced annual limits on SUV applications:

- 2025: 2,000 applications

- 2026: 1,000 applications

- 2027: 1,000 applications

3. There also many other changes you can goggle to see details.

These caps will likely make the program more competitive.

Regarding IRCC requirements, while I haven't heard specific concerns about the program no longer meeting them, the changes and the Immigration Advisor's comment about multiple rejections suggest that the criteria for approval may have become more stringent. It's possible that what was previously acceptable may no longer meet current standards.

MTA>>>Manitoba Technology Accelerator, did you receive LOS from them can you give some details about MTA concerns

No, last step was ADR regards to update some personal docs like PCC and performing a medical checkup

I think the applicant who got PAL is eligible but required comprehensive security check; that is is why they sent the PAL until finalising the CS.

Yes my ADR2 and ADR3 related to business progress

thanks for clarifications - does it long to receive ADR2/ADR3 after ADR1, we almost one year without any action!

also, if you don't mind, i would like to ask what kind of inquiries they ask about business progress, reports, refernces ...etc?

still there under this name " Biomedical Commercialization Canada Inc. (Operating as Manitoba Technology Accelerator)
Yes that’s the one, its a designated organization in the incubator category. From what i heard, it’s happening to groups that were accepted into their program, received LOS and completed the incubation program over the past year. When the PR file finally gets reviewed by IRCC, the group members are receiving PR rejections due to MTA not supplying IRCC with the required documents and incubation process not properly meeting IRCC’s specified program criteria.

They sent this requirements within a year , almost every three months, asking ADR like T2 corporate tax statements, for example, and business progress, all of which are related to the business

even if we are out of Canada (all team still out), No WP - they will ask about Tax statement or what could be relevant to teams who are outside Canada?
