Spouse sponsorship

Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen living in U.S. I got recently married and my wife is still in India.

Can I sponsor my wife for PR ? Is it necessary for me to live in Canada to sponsor my wife?

Please suggest!

Since you are a citizen, you can sponsor your wife while living abroad. If you don't intend to move back to Canada, then you can't sponsor her. When applying you will have to provide proof that you intend to move to Canada when your wife gets PR. Things like letter from university confirming you've enrolled, letter from an employer in Canada, saying they'll hire you, proof that you have a house in Canada,... things like that help. It's not always easy to prove it, but it's possible.
