Hi. Can anyone help me with my situation. I am currently unemployed and would like to sponsor my husband to come to Canada. Should I wait till I get a job or can I submit my application even if I have no income right now. Please help. Thanks.
There is no income requirement for sponsoring a spouse so you being unemployed isnt a problem. The only requirement is you dont be on welfare and you show that you will be able to support your spouse like via job prospects, courses are you planning to take etc.
Hi draxz1289! Thanks for your reply. I was unemployed for a year but I am in Canada for 5 years now and recently got my PR. I just got married and do you think this is the best time to file the application for my husband? I started looking for a job and hopefully could get one very soon.
I am s tudent here in Canada.i will be graduating in April and then will apply for my post graduate work permit (I'm eligible for one year work permit cos my program was just for a year).
My fiancé and I are planning to get married so we can file for my permanent resident card. My questions are
1. She doesn't want to inform her family because they are demanding for an expensive traditional marriage.
We plan to do a quiet wedding without informing Her family. Will CIC demand pictures that has members of her family in it. Her parents are late though just her brother and sister are here in Canada.
2. Should we apply inland or Outland. I'm from Nigeria though and my girl is from Sudan. I'm 26 and she's 21
3. If we apply Outland, should I choose the visa office in the USA to process my PR application since it's closer or should I choose Accra Ghana(responsible for processing application from Nigeria)
4. What are the requirements we need for the application. We have been living together since August 2014.
5. What Type of evidence do we need to show CIC.
Also can she sponsor me while Im on my postgraduate work permit ?

There is no such thing as best/bad time to apply, a couple can apply for sponsorship right after being married and there is no restriction.
As long as you are not in welfare or had been you are good to go.
If you able to get employment before you apply then show that (employment letter, pay stubs etc) if not just write a letter how you plan to support.
