How to order CAIPS notes?
If you need gcms notes belonging to someone else AND you reside in Canada - use this link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp
(note, even if you want the notes for your spouse/parents etc, you should use the above link. It is not necessary for the person to live in Canada. But the person applying for gcms notes - in this case, you - must reside in Canada)
If you need gcms notes belonging to you AND you reside in Canada - use this link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp
In both cases, you need to reside in Canada to make an application. There are 2 versions of information you can request (a) Electronic File and (b) Physical File. In most cases, the electronic version should meet your requirements. Asking for electronic version does not affect your processing times. Whereas, asking for a physical file, would mean that Ottawa would have to ask for the actual file to be sent to them and hence this would delay the processing time of your application.

Perfect
Hopefully you hear something good soon
My wife caips notes still says Not started for criminality, eligibility and security
So the application is still sitting there with no updates
I have to wait till June as My area MP got reply from ADVO.
Hello everyone,
Still checking in once in a while to see if there is good news for those of you still waiting. Will pray all of you hear something good soon. We never did get our GCMS notes that I ordered in December 2015. Will have to follow up on that one.
Please don't forget to encourage everyone you know to add their timelines to the ADVO spreadsheet. Thank you to those who have already done so.
Praying for everyone being processed out of ADVO that things go quickly.
Take care,
C.
Sponsor Approval
Hi All,
How it works here :-\
AOR is received first or Sponsorship Approval ?
Because in my case I have received my Sponsorship Approval first, & application has been forwarded to ADVO office & I have to wait for AOR.
Thanks,

Tou will receive sponsorship approval forst from Mississauga then your application would be transferred to the visa office
Then you have to wait to hear from the visa office
Usually ADVO will not confirm that they received your application
So if your application was transferred to AD
Then you will have to wait until the next step

Hi Guys,
My wife has applied for my Spouse Visa/PR using a consulting firm in Canada as she lives there. I reside in UAE.
The files are In Process with the following:
1-We received your application in November 2015
2-We started processing your application in Feb 2016
3-Medical Results have been received.
How can I find out where my application is being processed? Does it necessarily have to be Abu Dhabi since I live here?
The reason I ask is because many of you have mentioned that your application is being processed in LVO and then it gets transferred to ADVO and I am trying to understand why.
Are any one of you living in the UAE but have your application being processed outside of UAE?

You have to be a resident of the UAE and be present at the police station to get the good conduct certificate
No one else can get it for you unless you go through the UAE embassy
So you have to wait for the embassy to get it for you

Fisrt in Canada till sponsorship eligibility is approved, then to LVO where they will check spouse eligibility and security etc and for visa stamping and some minor process it will be in ADVO
Hello All,
I just had a question about Background Checks. My Spouse Visa application is being processed in Abu Dhabi. My wife is in Canada.
I have not been able to apply for my GCMS Notes so I'm not sure about my current status, except that the CIC Online status has reached to Medical Received on line 3.
I was born in 1983. I am from Pakistan but I was born and raised in Dubai. Starting 2007, I started facing employment issues due to the recession in those years. So from 2007 end to 2009 end, I had to make visits to my country which is Pakistan and apply for 3 Month Visit Visas to come back to Dubai every time, since I was not able to secure an employment visa for myself in that duration. Yes, it was that difficult and took that long. Each time I visited, I spent not more than 2 weeks to a month tops in Pakistan. I couldn't stay in Pakistan because my entire family was and still is in Dubai.
I believe you all know where this is heading. During my Background Checks, would this reason of my visits back and forth t Pakistan and Dubai between 2007 to 2009, have any impact of my situation or process times?
Has anyone received any updates on their app ? It's very slow in Abu Dhabi Office. It was moving very well last year.
For those who are new to the group , please update your timeline into the spreadsheet .
