Why? Should it not be just “work permit”. That has a processing time of 7weeks? Sorry my ignorance, I am just trying to figure it out when I should get an answer from them

Even I though that same but recently came to know the Open Work Permit processing time comes under "Work permit extension(new employer) category"

Approved: 11th March 2019

Hi! I recently applied for a spouse dependent open work permit and have received an email for an interview with the Canadian High Commission. Is this normal? As far as I know there is no interview for SOWP.
Also they've asked me to confirm my attendance for the interview. Where and how do I do that?

this happens one in a while, just call to ircc customer care number and ask them for the process.

Also do you know if it is automatic approval?
