Sorry man. It's been 108 days for me for a reply. I just found one improvement on CIC status check " we are doing your background check". Dropped web form two weeks ago and still waiting...
Who knows man. It's like as if they tell us what are they doing, they leave us hanging by the thread for months after months. If they want to say know then just say it so my wife can come back as it's difficult for her to be there by herself.
I went through the thread and found many people are waiting for a visa for more than 2 months, so I was thinking to apply for a visitor visa to my spouse while work permit is being processed. Can anyone help me here to know if it is safe todo so?
Also, work permit is applied outland and if my spouse moves to canada on a visitor visa and can I get the TRV changed to "worker" from Canada with same application?

Hi, if I am not wrong, you are planning to apply for a visitors visa while an application for work permit for same person is still in process.
If this is the condition. you are not supposed to submit multiple application at same time. If done so, there are chances both will get refused.
2ndly, yeah you can apply for a change in stay inside Canada if your spouse is here on visitors visa and you qualify for same, but if you are planning to apply for a visitors visa at this time, there are great chances it will be refused. Success rate for visitors visa while having spouse already present in Canada is really very low. They refuse it on ground that they are not convinced applicant will leave Canada. So its better you stick with your current application and wait for reply from cic.
My wife's TRV was refused twice (Nov 2016, March 2017) So we went for SOWP since I'm on a PGWP here in Canada.
Here is the timeline:
Online Application Date: April 12, 2017
Upfront medicals
Request for Passport: June 3, 2017 (About 7 weeks from the date of application)
Passport Submitted: June 5, 2017
Currently waiting for the passport.
Friends who require any inputs reg. SOWP please feel free to drop me a message. I'll be more than happy to help.

Congrats!! Was that a paper application or online? I didn't do medicals before applying the application, now the application is in process and i have not received any medical request. Can i do it now and upload the document or do i need to wait for medical request from CIC ?
