Spouse Open Work permit

Hi All,

Any update guys.....those who applied for study permit (or) spouse open work permit??

i applied for student permit and SOWP on 29-apr.
Study permit approved on 9-may.
SOWP still in Open state with no updates

Hi Fadii, I doubt that. As far as I remember, these used to be exclusive i.e. ONLY online payment via credit card for online app and cash / cheque based payment for paper applications.

But this might vary from embassy to embassy and might have changed since several visa offices established and started using VACs since.

But I am sure this should be listed among mode of payments on the local VO website for a paper based app.

Hi FKL,
I checked VFS website and there was this link for application fee:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?countrySelect=PK&lob=wp
and it does mention that for paper based applications, we can pay online and then attach the receipt.....i even selected country Pakistan from there...so should i just it online then? or is there a way this can be confirmed?

I also applied the SOWP on April 29th, no updates yet.

This is totally stupidity I applied on 22 March more than 3 months it is too much website is showing 2 months .they charged but no response after that it is totally making fool the people

very difficult to wait almost 9 weeks is about to complete, they didnt reply for CSE yet i applied on apr 22 thru a lawyer. application is open.

in that case i believe my wife's study permit will b done with the validity. It doesnt make any sense they will issue a visa that late. I really hope we hear something soon. Cos otherwise ill bother my lawyer badly for the delay. We havent applied for a PR. if they can issue PR in 6 months then y r they going to take that long. God help CIC.

Thanks , its giving me a warning that I have given permission to an external agent and should submit another form cancelling that permission before I can link the application to my online account.

When you applied so after 9 months you got medical and approval? What about your vfs. It was online or paper?

Depends on case by case basis. If you have everything and you are in a lucky person's hand, you will be ok in 3 to 4 months. Or else nightmare in checking mails...
