If you search on the official Canadian website, you'll see which institutions are eligible for PGWP. Only those will allow you to get an OWP for your spouse and a PGWP after finishing your studies. OMNI College doesn't seem to be one.

Thank you for the information. My husband & I took our chances because we have a close friend who was able to bring with her her common-law partner when she studied in OMNI College a few years ago. Maybe the VO reviewing their SP & OWP applications missed to see this restriction before.

This is the reason for refusal of my SOWP’ Spouses and common-law partners of full-time students in a program at some institutions in Canada can apply for a generic (open) work permit. However, the institution your spouse or common-law partner is attending is not an institution that is qualified under this category.
For YORK UNIVERSITY. spouse class will started Jan 2023
Should we relodge with justification?
I am an international student in Canada, i applied for PGWP and SOWP extension same time. Final Decision for my PGWP application is not made yet while they rejected my Husbands SOWP extension though he was having a skilled job. Now, What should i do, can he continue working while applying for JOB showing a proof of fund in my account will it workout as im finding difficult to land in a skilled Job though i have around 7 years exp in HR. Kindly suggest

SOWP ext is based on your PGWP (job offer, paystubs) and doesn’t matter that he has a job. If his SOWP has expired, he must stop working and cannot continue working until he has reapplied and been approved for SOWP. For him to be approved, you must have a job with job letter and pay stubs. Once you have that, he can apply for SOWP.

Thanks for the reply. Can i work as a Physio assistant as i have an Bachelor degree back home but its been a ten years before as i moved on from Physio to MBA HR and now can i get back into my Physio career and if i provide that employment and offer letter will that work for IRCC. Because i came here for an MBA program only and i completed it too. Now can i get back again to my physio career, or should i maintain a relevant job that i relevant to my study here in canada. If i can do physio job too will that affect my PR application in future?
