Spouse open work permit, Implied status

Hi guys, difficult question here.

I will apply before my work permit expire to spouse open work permit, (my girlfriend will study in a public college) but my passport will expire in 7 months...I know if I apply before my work permit expires I'll be in implied status and I would keep working. But what when my passport expire? I would get a new one and apply to spouse open work permit again but I would lose my worker status?

If you're getting a spousal open work permit as the spouse of a person studying on a student visa, how are you applying for permanent resident?

If you're asking about the spousal open work permit based on being the spouse of a student, you're asking in family sponsorship forum, which is the wrong forum. Try foreign worker.
