Have you been notified that you need an interview? Is this for an inland or outland application? If outlandI, this means IRCC has concerns about your relationship or application. You need to order your GCMS notes asap to find out what they are concerned about so that you can effectively prepare. Forget about the 12 month processing. If you've been asked for an interview, your application is now non-standard and you unfortunately cannot expect normal processing times.

Hello Leon, I am a sponsor for my wife, who is a Kenyan, living in Kenya. I sent the sponsorship and permanent residence package on June 16th, for an overnight delivery, to Missisauga. I was unaware that the address had changed to Sydney, Nova Scotia.
We used the updated generic form, but did not realize the checklist was also changed. What is likely to be the response from immigration Canada?
We have received no communication from immigration at all as of this date.

My concern is, when applying for spousal sponsorship, do I really need to renew my passport from single status to married as well as my last name into my partner's also my other supporting documents before submitting all our documents?

No it is not necessary, though it might be helpful since you are a newly married couple. But I doubt its going to make much of a difference.

Yes. You need to change everything. But my advice is just wait first to release the marriage certificate before you change your passport to married, because they gonna ask for supporting documents that your married. This is base on my experience. Also i know this because my wife is in philippines. I dont know were u from. Goodluck on your journey.

No, you do not need to change your passport before applying.

It doesn't make a difference to the app. People in fake marriages change their passports too.

This is wrong. A person is NOT required to update their passport.
