1. generic application form: filled principle applicant information( my spouse), whether i need to add dependants as me and my daughter who are permanent resident already.
2. Sponsorship relationship evaluation: Part C: are you living together now: whether I have to opt yes or no. I am here in Canada , but he is in India.What should I answer.
3: document Checklist: I am unemployed, so How i should write an explanation how I support my self and spouse?

Hi everyone! So thankful I just came across this site. My fiance is Canadian and I'm American. We are getting married on August 6th. My question is this. We will be going to the states a week after the wedding as I'm currently here to get married and visiting. We have a 5 year old son that will be starting school this year. When we come back to Canada, we will be with my husband. We want to talk to immigration at the border and ask for me to stay while my pr application is being processed. We haven't filed it yet, but will be after returning to Canada. I have heard that we will need proof of my husband's income and receipt of proof that we've paid the fees for the application, and our marriage license to prove we're married. If we pay the fees right before we leave, how long will we have to get the paperwork filed?? I don't even know if any of this info is true, I'm just lost and looking for any help! lol Thank you in advance!

So I applied for my husband's sponsorship on 28 July. Cic received file on 30 July. It's been 3 weeks but we haven't heard from cic. Can anyone tell me how long does it take to get file number? I heard it was 2-4 weeks.

Please reply. I am not aware of current timeline.

I am from india. My siater sponsored our family (my parents and 2 dependents) . Our file is transferred to new Delhi visa office in december 2016 and we have completed medical and pcc in may 2017 and submitted it. My file status on ecas is "in process". How long will it take for passport request. Can anyone help me

Be patient, you are still the early stages of the process, background check will take many months.

Child benefit is okay, social assistance would be welfare/unemployment benefit.
