In my birth certificate, my mother's name is incorrectly spelt with "ee" instead of an "i". For instance, they typed it as Cameela instead of Camila. Her name is spelt correctly in all my other documents. Although it is a very minor spelling error, it has been bothering me a lot. Will it be a problem? My name and my father's name are spelt correctly in the birth certificate. What should I do about it?
Also, my husband and I have a total of 7 family members, relatives, and friends writing letters for us to prove that our relationship is a public relationship and is recognized by them. My question is do each of these letters need to be in a separate envelope and sealed?
Fill up all the info. but on place of birth use one space only. I am sure it will gonna work.
You can create another account as well, not a big deal... best of luck.

I remember one member of this forum had an issue like yours but it was a mistake made in her own name.
She got an affidavit from a lawyer certifying that both names in passport and birth certificate refer to the same person. Also she was advised by The Canadian Consul to write a letter explaining why the names were not identical on all documents.
You might need to ask your mom to get an affidavit + letter of explanation.

I have a question and hopefully somebody will manage helping me out. I have got my PR recently as a single applicant.
I had a proxy verbal marriage that was not documented and stayed with my spouse for 9 Months before I got my PR which was not enough to add her as a common in law. So, I have a few questions about that:
1- will not declaring that proxy verbal marriage cause any problem in the future if I apply for sponsorship?
2- when can I actually get married after getting my PR?
3- should I mention that we were together for that period of time or not?
I am so worried about that, however, we are not married legally, and we did not stay together for more than 9 months.

As you have been previously told, your proxy "marriage" is not legally recognized by IRCC, so there is no issue in not declaring it. You can get legally married whenever you want.

Thank you so much. I have asked before, I know, but you know the worries, and I wanted to make sure to the max I can. The question now: should I mention all that history or I just get married legally in Canada without any need to go through all the details in the relationship? and then apply from within Canada?

Thanks a lot for your answer. Should I write the letter explaining my mother's incorrectly spelt name in my birth certificate, or should my mother write it?
