Where are you doing this? This must be something about where you are applying for the PCC. In most places you just ask for a police clearance certificate, you don't have to explain why. And I don't think it matters, except that I would presume 'residence permit' is with respect to wherever you're getting this.

I'm only guessing though because otherwise - have no idea what you're talking about.

Yes i applied PCC for my spouse as she’s in India for spousal sponsorship when i applied her Pcc they ask purpose of pcc on the passport site. So i fill that using PCC for residence permit there is other options too so that would be fine in the process of application that i choose residence permit, that s what i want to know?

I presume residence permit refers to one for India, but no idea really. Immigration purposes sounds like a better fit to me.

But to make your question more clear, you can now make it specific that this is a question others who have ordered the pcc in India and completed spousal sponsorship could answer. (I'd still wonder if these pccs are different in any way ie does it matter)

Hi guys, my medical shows the expiry date as 2024 on the tracker but still shows “we have requested a medical” on gckey? Is this normal? Does it mean that medical is passed?

Can anyone please help?
I have applied for my spouse sponsorship and have received SA and AOR. I want to apply trv now under family reunification policy. It is asking for the duration of the visit, should i enter just made up date of return as we gonna apply open work permit later on? And should i book 2-way air ticket as someone told me that they ask for it at airport if someone visit on trv. Will be very grateful if someone could answer. Thanks

I would simply set out the "purpose" as "Canadian visa application". I don't think you have to fine detail the precise nature of the visa being sought. It worked for my wife in obtaining a couple of PCCs where that question was asked.

As a part of spousal sponsorship application principal applicants eligibility and background check is already completed however the dependent's (1year old child) background check is still in progress and eligibility is not started yet
How long does it take to be completed and when can I expect pre arrival services or PPR and final decision.

Any information/help is appreciated

Eligibility status has been updated to In progress on 6th June
And on 18th July got an update on pr tracker “
We sent you a message about your application
Read the message carefully and take appropriate action as necessary” but didn’t get any mail regarding that update
Ghost update on 8 aug
Since then there’s no update yet
No representatives only sponsors email has been given for both sponsor n PA

I am a PR holder and I want to apply for my husband's visa (spouse visa). I am a bit confused if I have to create an account on the permanent residence portal for his visa application or will I have to create a separate GCKEY account for him? He is outland as he resides in the UK at the moment. I came to Canada as a Permanent Resident and I applied for the same through express entry programme, so I had applied through my GCKey account. So, again, I am bit confused if I have to create an account on the permanent residence portal for his visa application or will I have to create a separate GCKEY account for him? I would be grateful if anyone could please help me with this doubt!
