Oh okay. I really wish they can be more specific on the website and help people.
This waiting thing is so awful.

I sent an email on webform to ask the same question and they said 6-12 months and that they source it out to a third party so they don't have control or information on it. It could take less time as well.

My husband is Aug 2017 applicant and they started the background check on Sept 19, 2018. So it sucks not knowing!

I am october 2017 applicant. And no red flagss .. its a first marriage for both of us, no age gap and we applied within 5 months of our wedding .. i think the only red flag according to them might be that it's a cousin wedding i guess .... in Pakistani culture it is common to get married to your cousins ..LVO never asked for any additional documents at all ... now it's difficult for me to stay positive honestly .. i m frustrated with this whole process .. I don't know if I should get in touch with the ministry or go to electronic media .. this claim of 12 months is bogus really ..

Do I have to go thru all of the steps again? When I got it the first time I got a request letter from my embassy and got it attested by the ministry. Then I got the pcc.
Do I have to repeat the same steps or can I take my pcc to the police station and ask them to make an updated one?
How did you got an updated one?

You have the old Letter from embassy just go to Police station and submit it there for another one. tell them it is for Embassy of Canada.
they will issue you another police certificate.
if you lost the embassy letter then you have to go through all process again.

it is normal, no need to contact them right now. you will get update in coming two months. LVO is silent and long place

Yea...we got the pre-arrival letter in aug 2018, then re-medical in sept 2018...i thought for us the bgc is the last step but now i see some people are being sent 2nd requests for security check??? so now m not very sure...
