Just wanted to know if there is anyone in a similar situation as me. I've submitted my application on the 6th of November 2017 and today its the 4th of January 2018 but there has been no action from them in regards to acknowledging that my file has been received or not.
Also there has been a post that has caught my attention regarding NN as I've only submitted my "original" Nikkah Nama in English. Although I do have the Urdu one but have not submitted that with my file would that be a problem? If it is, then should i send that along with the submission of the PA police certificate?
Let me know if anyone has any feedback regarding this. Thank you

This waiting time is normal. If you wish though, you can contact LVO for a status update at [email protected]
However, they don't really provide any detailed information. You could also contact your MP to see if they can get any info for you, or request GCMs notes.

Hi is there a thread which can help me in filling imm5532 questions especially Part C question 3, 4 and 8
Question 3 Are you living togather now? I put it as no reason I went to pakistan to get married between nov and dec and came back. is it correct?
Question 4 if you aren't living togather did you visit? Should i mention my trip to Pakistan for wedding in this section? Also should I mention my visits to Pakistan during my engagement period? please advise
Question 8 if you are married explain how it was arranged when how where? I wrote as below do i need to add more or is it sufficient? please advise.
Parents of Sponsor (name) and Principal Applicant (name) met at sponsor's parents place in 1st week of February 2017 and decided the dates for the Nikah Ceremony (Marriage Contract signing), Wedding and Reception functions in consultation with both Sponsor and Principal Applicant and accordingly venues of these functions were decided. Venue for wedding was (name of hall) and for reception was (name of hall).
3. Yes, but try to provide a reason as to why you came back so soon after the wedding (university studies, work, etc.) instead of staying for a few months
4. Yes, it would probably help if you mentioned all the times that you visited your spouse/then fiance to show that you have met a few times. Give them any info you can
8. That does answer their question but try to add any details, if possible. For example, how did the parents of the sponsor and PA know each other or decide to meet up (do they have a mutual friend or relative? Was there a matchmaker involved?)

thanks for your reply I only got 3 weeks off for wedding from work. I work here so had to come back
ok will do I was confused if this question related to after wedding visits or any visit since engagement. WE have been engaged for more than a year before and i visited twice during engagement and then came for wedding after a year
no My mother and my wifes mother know each other they use to live is same neighborhood and are teenage friends and use to see each other casually twice thrice a year. I will think how to put it in a more formal language about their acquaintanceship
I don't think any one opinion can be applied to all cases, but in my experience, send them as much communication and relationship proof as you can when you are first sending in your whole application. Then they are less likely to request additional documents.
In my case, we sent a lot of proof, although still not as much as some people on this forum! Alhamdulillah, as seen by our notes, this was enough to satisfy our officer that our relationship was genuine.
For those of you visiting your spouse in Pakistan and providing voluntary proofs to LVO, this is a good idea if your trip was for a certain amount of time and if you have a fixed return date/have already returned to Canada.
For those of you like me, who came to Pakistan to live with their spouse until the process was complete and plan to return to Canada with them, you don't necessarily have to give them voluntary proof of your visit. Now, this is just my experience and not me saying that this is what you have to/should do. But if you inform LVO of the fact that you're living with your spouse in Pakistan, they will ask you to show your proof of intent to return to Canada. If you have solid proof and have no problem in putting together the evidence for that, then that's great. In my case, I had no idea how long I would be here for and had no solid proof of my return (although I am returning). So, we never told LVO that I (temporarily) moved, and alhamdulillah never had to, as the officer was already satisfied with what we had provided with our application submission.
Always read your GCMS notes and send any proof accordingly. Each case is different and up to the Will of Allah

Sorry to hear about your PFL. Anyhow, atleast they have given you a chance to prove your relationship genuineness. Inshallah with all the mentioned below documents, you will get straight PPR. All the prayers with you, also I was wondering that did you submit all the documents, such as FB Post, CRA, Insurance and other proof prior as well.
Hello everyone, sorry for the long hiatus from the group. We got a PFL on Dec 22. Since then life has been dark gloomy and well hopeless. Don't worry I will share the details of the PFL here and how we are tackling it.
The officer thinks our marriage is not genuine because it's a love marriage and that is culturally unusual (Yup you read it right!).
They also asked for:
1) (yet again) Urdu NN
2) Photo of rukhsati
3) More wedding photos showing more guests etc
4) Communication proof since wedding
5) statement of when we decided to get married and when we informed our families.
So now we are:
1) Getting an urdu NN made, will attach a letter from registrar that English is legal but because CIC is insisting we are getting an Urdu one made again.
2) We don't have a picture of me sitting inside the decorated car, or being walked out by my family for various reasons. However we do have lots of pictures of all the other more fun stuff from the wedding, like dance performances, photo booth, on stage with lots of people etc. We are explaining (with evidence) why pictures were not taken at the time of our exit, giving a rukhsati certificate, showing pictures of us inside the hotel room where we stayed for 3 nights after wedding, photos of me inside his house with his family, and then my visit in spring of this year flight detail, visa and stamps on passport, receipts of shopping etc we did, lots of photos we took with family and friends during my trip. CIC needs to update its checklist either internally or online to ensure couples pay close attention to these details. Anyone else have the same issue and how they got out of it would really appreciate your help in this regard specifically.
3) Lots of pics in total maybe 250 for 3 events
4) communication proof since marriage and we have given proof of communication from 2008 - wedding date as well.
5) statement with proof of when we told our mothers, when they talked, when we decided to get married etc.
6) we have included as supporting evidence:
a) receipts of gifts we sent each other on birthdays and at random
b) money we transferred on birthdays and Eid
c) letters from family members explaining our circumstances at wedding, missing rukhsati photo, vouching that our rukhsati has indeed taken place etc
d) My name on my husbands work health insurance, his name on my CRA profile
e) facebook posts of friends and family wishing us anniversary, us writing on each others wall, wishing birthdays, comments and likes of friends on our wedding pictures etc
f) communication between his family and myself, and my family and him. We are in each others family groups screen shots of that, screenshots of his conversations with my family or my chats with his siblings etc
g) other messages of friends on whatsapp where we are talking about my spouse, or he is talking about me with other people etc
We have also hired a lawyer in Canada who will argue that not everyone follows the same traditions, and if the marriage is legal and genuine then rejecting based on not following traditions is a form of discrimination. We have prepared a 550 page long document which the lawyer is going to review in the next few days until our Urdu NN is done. Wish us luck and any suggestions regarding the lack of photo at the time of rukhsati will be greatly appreciated.
We are hoping for a positive response, but that is all we can do.
