That is gud news. Background checks might have already begun. If u hav a long travel history it might take arouns 3-4 weeks to complete. Otherwisr for some it hardly takes 1-2 weeks. Some get it done in a day even.

Can u pls share which month and year u applied in?

Applied Jan 23rd 2016- add doc request for urdu nikkah nama 5th Jan submitted 23rd Jan 2017, notes say 27 Jan 2017 elibility was passed. I traveled UK for long time twice- less wherever i traveled was less than 6 months- so this means by now background check started? but i recieved notes today that doesn't say anything.

What does ur Mycic say?
Notes are one month old data so by now maybe ur checks might have begun. Additionally to confirm it, u can call CIC and inquire about it or email them or u can have ur MP call them up and inquire about ur status.

My background check is in progress since Feb 7 - almost a month. There is no travel history at all and no criminal history.

There is this assessment section on notes which reads: eligibility not started
Criminality in progress.
Due date: 2017/09/26
After this there is paper file section that says file location (PA-put away)

In a section named Sub activities:
Type: security screening
This says not started
But the due date is 05/11/2016 :-[

Honestly it doesn't make much sense. However there is some explanation by an officer. Which says "intent to return to canada be determined by visa officer". As my wife is living outside canada so they are not sure if we will live in Canada (though its totally ABSURD to even think like that). I think we should send out some evidence to support that we indeed intent to reside in Canada :

When sponsor is exclusively living outside Canada and applying for spousal sponsorship from outside it is very common for VO to look for proofs that sponsor intends to "come home" to Canada once PR is apprved for the applicant and the sponsorship is not merely for getting a PR card for applicant.

Plenty of threads on this. Search for "proof of intent" keywords

Either rental agreement in Canada
A job offer in Canada
A university offer acceptance in Canada
These three are the most solid proofs. However most of us arent able to furnish these since coming home to Canada is dependant upon PR being approved for applicant. Therefore we wont have a definite date of returning

You can do things like:
-Notarized letters from friends and family here and in Canada knowing of your plans to goto Canada.
letter from a relative in Canadaoffering you temporary housing till u find ur own place
-Reasons of choosing the specific city uv chosen
-How u will support urselves
-Rental searches screenshots
-Intended industry research screenshots
-Savings perhaps
-Quotes from shipping companies for moving ur belongings

Basically demonstrate to the visa officer that you have a solid well thought out plan of re-establiahing life in Canada. Write a letter, mention actions, including supporting proofs/documents/screenshots

my frnd had to proff that last yr n she only provided her bank acct info n copy of her recent notice of assessment ( mind u she didnt have any savings n she only worked a part time job in her life so far she was even on welfare for a yr right before she sent her applicaton) she sent an explaiantion letter as to why she decided to stay in pk she was living in pakistan for 14 months when they asked her that so she was fine providing only minimum stuff .however i recommend getting the best docs u can to be on safe side

Guys so I applied for my wife sponsorship on Feb 6th, 2017 , got acknowledgment of receipt on Feb 26,2017 saying cic has started working on my application. Today my spouse got email to submit Schedule A and police certificate, I never got any email about sponsorship approval.

Email says that I have option to submit the document through myCIC , how do I go about making the account on myCIC? And email came from missisagua office , so I assume if I couldn't figure out this myCIC I can just mail them these documents? Thoughts please?
