I met my fiance in december last year and we are now engaged after 6 months together she lives and works in canada and I am African.we met while on a visit to Africa that she she spent 4 months here and 3 of them with me so we fell in love and got engaged. am still studying though we plan on gettin married and spending our lives together in canada because she does not like the country i come from that much so i was willing to sacrifce my life here because canada is a good place by far.i recently applied for a tourist visa 2 months after she left so i would be with her before our original plan of her coming back on september but my visa was denied with this we plan on getting married soon when she comes and i need to know that we are not setting ourselves up for failure when it comes to the spousal visa application..can anyone please tell me what i need to do to make it easy because the strain in such a relationship may end it and we both do not want that.if we get married by august can we apply for the spousal visa and how long would it take until we move or I move to canada.will i stay here the entire time while the proccesing is taking place and what are the chances of being granted the visa and accepted? :(.

You did not mention in which country you are now and what is your nationality.
Also you did not mention the status of your fiancee in Canada.
However, if she is a Canadian citizen or Permanent resident, she can sponsor you as her spouse, after your legal marriage.
You can come to Canada with your immigrant visa once it is approved, but I cannot say how long it will take, at this time. First of all, both of you get married and let her submit the sponsorship application.

The biggest thing that you need to do is to start gathering 'relationship evidence.' This is any proof that you have that you have a real genuine relationship. Pictures of her time with you in Africa. Proof that you are communicating now that she is back in Canada. This would be copies of e-mails or letters, A log of your skype calls to each other, a detailed phone bill showing how much you call each other, anything that you have. Keep the letter that you have where CIC denied your visitors visa, you can use this as a reason that you were unable to visit her in Canada. If she has met your family you should find pictures of her with some of them, same if you have met her family. When she comes for the wedding ask her to keep her boarding passes for the planes and to print a copy of her flight itinerary as proof that she came and how long she stayed. You should take lots of pictures of all parts of your wedding celebration and if you go on a honeymoon keep any proof like pictures, hotel bills, etc. If the two of your decide to write your own wedding vows, or if you make a speech at your wedding, you can make a copy and include that in your application. If either her or your family support the relationship and support you moving to Canada you can ask them to write letters about this... maybe her family couldn't afford to come to Africa but you have met them and chatted with them on Skype or Facebook....you can have them write about this in a letter. If she ever sends you money to help you with school or bills or anything you should keep any receipts that you get for this like from western union or wherever for proof.

It's a lot of stuff but you have a short courtship so you will need it all. Keep Everything! Start gathering now and you will not be sorry later.

hey wilson am from kenya east africa, and she is canadian born and raised.and thanks alot for the info though.just to ask is there going to be any difficulties mainly because am african or its just a stereotype??/

agaranda8 yeah i have started gathering evidence about our relationship because we do have bank transactions that are visible in the bank statements and lots of pictures together snd she met my family as well and i have pictures of that am worried the problem might be where you have to show that you have livrd together in a conjugal relationship for a year should i be worried about that because ever since the visitor visa denial iv been doing research about thr canadian system and its not that easy to apply, what are the steps if she comes and we are married next month do we have to live together for a year?

No you do not have to live together for a year. As soon as you are married she can apply to sponsor you.
