Hello all, I recently just got married to my Canadian wife(I am American). Currently waiting on the marriage certificate so that we can apply for Spousal sponsorship. I read that during my application for PR I can possibly get a Work permit during the pending process. Is this a good idea to get one? I have a full-time job here in the states, my worries are that if I get the work permit and I did not get accepted for PR I wont have anything to fall back to.
1. How to apply for this Work permit while applying for PR/Sponsorship
2. Is it likely I wont get accepted for PR?- No criminal Record, Full-time worker, Married.

1. The work permit is only applicable for inland applications. You must both be living inside Canada to apply inland.
2. Highly unlikely.

Well a question- How do you apply inland? As I am applying to move to Canada, how can someone be there and not be a PR to apply within....?

As a visitor. As an American, you can enter Canada as a visitor without a visa and stay for up to 6 months. Applying for the work permit along with your inland application then grants you "implied status" that will cover you as long as you are waiting for, and later possess, a valid OWP.
